Health & Safety Regulations

The Workers Compensation Act and Regulations requires all employers to have Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees (JOHSC) where representatives from both the workers and employers meet monthly to identify and address health and safety issues.

As part of the requirements, the employer is mandated to post the past three (3) JOHSC meetings minutes must at each worksite, including any orders issued by WorkSafeBC. The minutes will identify your Worker Representatives (appointed by the Union) on these important committees.

Federally regulated worksites have similar criteria as provincial worksites but are regulated under Part II of the Federal Labour Code.
